ART BATCH - Sketch-A-Day Project

Twilightlicious Opera, drawn for Tara Strong on Twitter in 30 minutes.

At the begining of August, after making quite a risky picture involving Gilda and Spike, I decided to take on a little project before leaving to Scotland by the end of the month. This project had me boosting up my Pony art folder by making one pony sketch every day, using the help of a random number generator to get a random pony (or character from MLP:FiM) to draw.

The result you all can see after the break, with a small comment depicting stuff about it.

Twilight Being all Badass.

Because DeviantArt likes to be a bitch sometimes, you guys over here can have this first hand. Hopefully I will be able to send this to the groups over there once DA stops being slower than the Spanish economy.

You can get the bigger version after the break.

THE RARITY PLUSH IS HERE!!!

A good couple of weeks ago something happened. My best friend and I were bidding for a Rarity plush on eBay, and we were aiming to get it for me. I was going to pay the shipping costs, and he would pay the rest of the plush. This was my idea of a payment for a set of comissions. I had to work that day. So I went to work and asked my friend to keep me updated on the bidding. We ended up losing it. To put it charitable, I didn't take it too well. I'm no liar, I took it quite bad, mostly because we lost the bid in the last second by two freaking bucks. My friend saw me so upset that he set himself on getting me another Rarity plushie.

This is it.

And it's awesome.

RARITY TIME - Doll Customs.

Wow, it's been forever since I last posted here now, have I? It's like we are into some sort of pause in between seasons of My Little Pony or something I mean, doesn't this feel familiar? Actually, I'm doing so much stuff at the moment and there's so much shit going on that I really can't begin to count all the things I have yet to post here. So much stuff, so little time, like they say.

But anyways. I bought another Rarity doll and styled her hair to look better and more like in the show, following this useful tutorial. This left me with two Rarity toys, so I picked my old one and turned her into Little Miss Rarity. Yes, I'm a monster, and I love my Little Miss Rarity doll. Mommy's still pretty. Check a handful of photos right after the break.

Papercraft and Braiding are magic, biatch!

Oh brother, my life suddenly got busy right now.

You guys might baw and whine that there is no episode this weekend and that the next episodes we are having are next week and we are not having new ones until the fall. I personally am thankful about this. I have so many things to do that I need to slow down and yet I can't. I feel like aboard a train that has no brakes and that is heading towards a pile of plushies and pegasus feathers. It might sound cuddly, but the impact is still going to hurt.

Luckily I have some more papercraft and pony moding goodness to share this week! Plus a future "Top Ten List" for middle of next week.

100.000 Thank you's guys!

Picture the following as I build up this silly little comic I made to thank you all guys.

> I stay in FurAffinity for six years.
> I don't move to any other website thinking I can work my way over there.
> After six years I discover My Little Pony.
> I love it and start posting stuff in this Blog so I don't have to bother my FA followers.
> Sudden burst of visits and people checking out what I have to say and share.
> Screw FurAffinity, I love this place.

Thanks a million for checking my reviews, my drawings, and for giving me back hopes that one can have fun doing something and have people noticing him/her for it. I should've done this a long time ago, and now I am making up for it ^_^ Enjoy this little comic thanking you all!!!

Fanart - Random Plots and Twilightliciousness

Hello there guys!

It's been a while since I last made a batch of artwork around here, but that's mostly because I've been with a cold, and a severe lack of energy. I don't know what's gotten into me but it really affected my productivity. That and also the fact that I haven't had any good idea floating around my boat for a couple of weeks. We also have to add the fact that I'm tired of using this piece of old dust Wacom Bamboo tablet and I want to move onto a bigger, better, more proffesional tablet, so it's basically a combination of many things.

So, until I can get that tablet that I want so much, let's focus on doing traditional artwork. That's still a lot of fun to do, especially when one needs practice. Let's take a look at what I'm bringing today.

Papercraft is Magic, biatch!

You guys have no idea how much it freaking took me to write this post. Not because the wording is complicated or anything like that. Oh no, it's far more complex than that. Allow me to explain you my current laptop situation, okie dokie? Believe me, I will segue my way into the subject but first I need to explain this story, or else you won't be able to get it.

Sabrina Alberghetti is AWESOME.

So we all know that the guys who work at Studio B and DHX Media are all a pack of awesome guys with whom is great to talk to. Even if it's just a couple of words it feels great to see they reply to our comments even if all they say is (happy face). I am not one to pick favourites, so when I say that Sabrina Alberghetti is awesome, you can pick and replace her name with the name if anypony else who works in that awesome show. But then you wonder, why? Why James are you picking her in particular and not anyone else?

Well, check it out after the page break.

I used to be a Furry Artist...

...but then I killed every single person who thought that stupid Skyrim meme. Seriously guys, that is the textbook example of memetic mutation gone wrong. There are many memes out there, and some of them are genuinely funny. My personal favorite is that one with the guy looking at another guy off-screen as he smiles, holds his hands on his hips and goes: "Oh you!" I think that one is really funny. However, this stupid shit about arrows, knees and adventurers has literally killed my interest in Skyrim. Yeah I know, it's childish, but if you add that meme to my recent bruising with New Vegas: Dead Money, I can pretty much say that I fucking hate Bethesda. I'm pretty sure those guys hate me too, why else would they keep releasing games and add-ons that piss me the hell off?

Have a drawing after the break.

Fanart - Harley Sparkle and The Spiker

I feel kind of odd that I'm making this post mostly because I want to link Tara Strong this picture, but my FurAffinity account is inaccesible because that website is a myriad of useless jackasses. In other news, I am still surprised to find reducts of butthurtery all over the tubenets, claiming to have the ultimate knowledge of truth, admitting that Bronies are, in fact, furries with pony costumes. This reporter will have some opinions to gather as I will interview experts on the subject, including PhD Doctors Ivan DeLosers, and Hatters Gonnang Hatersticks.

More news at eleven!

Oh yes, and here's the picture.

I'll pay good money for someone to make a Batman+MLPFiM Crossover.

Fan-Hate-Masochist Art Thingie.

That's a very weird concept, and I might be one of the pioneers in this field. If not, pin-point me to other fanarts that fulfill these many categories and I will be happy to throw a link on this post. But before we get to the artwork, I want to clarify something first.

Artist Training Grounds - January 2012 - Day 5

The last day of Training Grounds, and I feel kind of sad. I had a lot of fun doing these, and even though I was feeling really tired coming back home (not sleeping well, and working standing up does terrible things to your back) I sat down and made this little last drawing. If I could have an audience for this kind of artwork, I'd charge 5 euros each and make myself a fortune. But sadly, all people want to comission me for are drawings I wouldn't dare posting here. Good God, I am tired of that. This feels so much more satisfying though.

DAY 5: Draw a pony coming home. This one caught me off guard. I have to say, for the whole army feel this whole Training Ground felt like, I expected something like "Recreate the Omaha Beach Landing with Ponies". I bet they didn't do it because: A, it's against the site's rules, and B, it's been done already. So drawing a pony coming back home after a lot of fake sword fights and rescue missions feels refreshing and nice to draw. This fandom is great. It keeps me in the track of producing artwork I don't feel ashamed of!

You can check me on Equestria Daily! I am number 60.

We need a moment like this in the show. It'll make me weep.

Artist Training Grounds - January 2012 - Day 4

As Day 4 creeps in, I suddenly realize how much time of the day I spend watching stuff in the computer doing nothing. I don't know if that's good or bad, taking into account I spend the mornings working, but in the end it does hurt my productivity. So these Training Grounds are actually helping me a bit, mostly with improvisation and planification. When you have a time limit and a specific theme to draw, the drawing flows quite better than when you have neither of those things. And in the long run, it's a lot more fun and satisfying.

DAY 4: Draw a pony on a Rescue Mission. I am surprised that, with all the pony fanart I've drawn, I haven't done any of my favorite Cutie Mark Crusader: Applebloom. I consider her an adorable badass, who can kick your ass in five seconds and that has crazy craftspony skills. I am still hoping her cutie mark is something artwork related, or toaster-repair pony related.

Have a drawing, as I await for the fifth and final day's assignment.

Check it out on Equestria Daily! I am number 58.

There's so many refferences here I am kind of sad I can't count them all.

25 January 2012

Artist Training Grounds - January 2012 - Day 3

So Day 3 of the Training Grounds comes along, and I am here doing quite a lot myself, in my own personal war against the circumstances. I am most likely going to be sued by my college, I have a terrible back pain from my work, I fucking hate the newest Academy Award nominations, and people seem to keep tearing appart between each other when talking about Derpy's retardness.

But hey, it's the internet! It's all in good fun until somebody gets billed on the eye. So, until then, let's get some pony time done, shall we?

DAY 3: Draw a pony dueling. You know what I love? Magic the Gathering. You know what I hate? Yu-Gi-Oh. I hate its guts to the Moon and back. I played the game, I know what I'm saying. I hate it. But I love the Abridged Series, it's hilarious! So it's not so ironic for me to draw Rarity and Fluttershy playing Yu-Gi-Oh.

You know, because in the anime they say "LET'S DUEL!" anytime they wanna play a card game.

Dueling ponies.

Duel.

Let's duel.

Yu-Gi-Oh.

Bad pun is bad.

You can find me in Equestria Daily right here. I am number 89.

Yes Rarity, your hair style is not ridiculous enough to play a Children's Card Game!

RANDOM PINKIE SKETCHES TIME!!!

So, I was at my work placement yesterday, checking over some random notes I was doing on an upcoming list I hope to get done by next week. I was bored, there was nothing to do, and I started scribbling. Then I thought: "Fucking 'ell, I could be drawing now, and instead I'm just doing some boring notes on some boring list nobody is going to read." So I took my sketchbook to work today, and I cranked up a couple of sketches, rough ones, on the last two pages I had left in my sketchbook.

I've been carrying that sketchbook for six years, ever since I originally bought it in Madrid. I bet I wouldn't expect to finish it by doing pony drawings. Who would've thought? Here are the drawings, enjoy!

If she looks like she's poledancing...That's because that was the original idea.
Those toeless boots with laces will appear very often when drawing Pinkie. I like them.

Artist Training Grounds - January 2012 - Day 2

I feel really sorry for Phoe.

Well, no, let me rephrase that. I feel jealous for Phoe, but I'm worried for her. She went through a lot of pressure lately, due to the overwhelming income of artwork she got on Day 1, and on Day 2 the whole submission system they had set up from summer went bananas and started promoting a republican pre-campaign website. All in all, that gave me time to catch up with stuff and make my Second Day Entry, which is down here.

I can't wait to see the themes of the next assignments. This is going to be fun.

DAY 2: Draw a pony training. What's better than seeing AJ bucking some sand sack with her girls? There's not enough Bucky McGuillicutty and Kicks McGee fanart out there. Also, those aren't socks! They are like those fingerless gloves that kick-boxers and fighters wear, or like those socks without toes that fighting videogame characters use. You can consider them socks though, even if they aren't.

You can check the Equestria Daily post right here. I am number 151.

AJ's hooves. They need some hardcore training to be that badass.

Voz de Sueños' Comission - Silver Speech

This comunity is awesome.

No matter how many PonyArchives show up and die with a middle finger to Hasbro.

No matter how many missinterpreted comedy videos at the expense of us Bronies (RedEye, The Fine Bros, I love you guys, heart deep I do).

No matter how many times we get compared to the Sonic Fandom.

No matter how many times we rage because our fanon breaks.

This comunity is awesome. It will be awesome. And it will be remembered as the most peaceful place to go online in the search for possitive feedback and constructive criticism. If we can be proud of something, we should be proud of having learnt the errors from other comunities and making sure we don't commit those errors again. And if we learnt something out of those errors, is not acting like a douche nuzzle when talking to others. I know I changed. Ten years ago, I wouldn't have been standing here, talking to you through this post, telling you about how much I actually enjoy going online. I would be raging, or acting emo over something that bothered me, instead of moving on and enjoy my possitivity trip. That's what I've been doing since I entered into the Brony Comunity.

And guys, it feels great.

So the story I bring you today comes with a drawing. In August of 2011, I noticed that my Cupcakes follow up Le Petit Four got a live read made by a guy called Voz de Sueños. I checked it out, and I loved it. This guy and his friend made a great live read, with first reactions to the whole thing as they were horrified and amused by my sadistic tale. I contacted him through YouTube to tell him how much I enjoyed the reading, and from then on I kept following him, since he does a weekly podcast which is a ton of fun to listen to. So from time to time we exchanged emails, I commented on his videos, and he proved to be a great guy! He is in the same segment of the fandom that I am, as we enjoy the show, we create content for the comunity (I make drawings, he makes awesome podcasts and live reads), we have merchandise (but not too much) and we kinda converted a few of our friends into the Brony side. We've exchanged so many emails by this point I can perfectly call him a friend now, and I think we are friends, right?

Yeah, we definitely are.

So a few days ago he asked me for a comission, in preparation for his upcoming project. And I gleefully did it! Here it is, posted with his permission for all of you to see! I'm also leaving links to his YouTube Channel, so you can check his stuff too.

If you get the three refferences, you'll get 100 internet points.

Artist Training Grounds - January 2012 - Day 1

Here you go Phoe!

Theme of the day: Draw a Pony wearing armor or a uniform.

What better type of armor but the marine armor from "ALIENS"? There's only one type of armor better than that. Aquilinus' armor, of course.

Find the Equestria Daily Post right here. I am number 88.

You know she'll kick ass in the Marine Corps.
I know this ain't new, but goddamnit, ALIENS is the best movie of all time and if you think otherwise I am dissapointed.

RANDOM PONY SKETCHES TIME!!!

Check out another sketch I threw in while watching Aliens half sleep. I feel bad I couldn't finish that movie in one single sitting. I better fix that, tonight maybe. There's so many things I wanna do, and instead I spend time commenting on boards, chans, Equestria Daily, FurAffinity...I need to get back to the drawing board and draw more ponies! MORE PONIES! MORE WOOD! MORE W...! I mean, ponies! PONIES!

Twilight blushes and Rarity grabs her pulse rifle. Oh no, you didn't.
