- SCENE. EXT. PONYVILLE.
Rainbow
Dash is lying on a cloud in the outskirts of Ponyville. It’s a raincloud, grey
and black. Rainbow Dash looks depressed and when she talks to herself she does
so in a rather down fashion.
Rainbow Dash
All
anypony talks about is Mare Do Well this, and Mare Do Well that! What about me?
How could everypony forget about me so easily? I mean... have I changed? Same
sleek body. Same flowing mane. Same spectacular hooves. Nope, I'm still
awesome. They're wrong. But...
then... why am I all alone? I hate being all alone.
Rainbow
Dash lies down on the cloud and pouts. In the background above Ponyville a
cluster of storm clouds form, thunders re-sound in the distance as the lighting
flashes with dreading threat.

SCENE. PONYVILLE.
A
team of pegasi seems to be working next to the clouds, as if they have stopped
paying attention to them. The clouds approach dangerously to town and lighting
hits one of the buildings. Sparks fly away and the roof is set on fire.

Watch
out with those clouds!
Weather Pegasus #2
Move
them away from the town!
One weather
pegasus tries to fly to one of the clouds but a lightning bolt hits her and she
falls like a fly. The rest of the team try to move the clouds away, but these
have formed one big cumulus and it’s out of control. Lighting hits another
house, setting it on fire. Ponies run around the town left and right in panic
as flames start consuming everything around them.

SCENE. EXT. PONYVILLE.
Rainbow
Dash turns around and sees the scene. She springs up from her cloud and darts
to the weather pegasi team.

SCENE. PONYVILLE.
Rainbow Dash
What
the hay is going on here!?
Weather Pegasus #1
We
were moving this to the bog to ease the summer heat, but this cumulus got out
of control and it started to rain lighting all over Ponyville! We need water!
Rainbow Dash
Come
on! We have to stomp on the cloud and make it rain!
Weather Pegasus #1
It
won’t be of use! This cloud is dry! It’s charged with electricity, not water!
Rainbow Dash
Darn
it! Go get your team and move the ponies below the cumulus to a safe zone,
pronto!

SCENE. INT. ALLEY WAY IN PONYVILLE.
Rainbow
Dash flies under the cloud and tries to push it away, but lighting hits her on
the back and throws her to the ground. She crashes leaving the shape of her
body in the dirt. A dash of purple and black passes by her. It’s the Mysterious
Mare-do-Well. The vigilante pony doesn’t say a word and hops atop the roofs,
heading to the water tower. Dash grits her teeth, gets up flapping her wings
and tries to catch up with her. Right when she’s about to get next to her, a lightning
bolt hits the Mare-do-Well and knocks her into the alley.
Dash
keeps moving between running and flying to the water tower. A gust of wind
sends her flying away, when she sees the Mare-do-Well again, this time she is
lifting her hat and we see the horn glowing. It’s as if the vigilante is trying
to move the water tower with her powers. The Mare-do-Well stops and increases
her magic power. Dash ignores her and keeps running. Another gust of wind hits
a banner that’s resting on a roof top. It flies away and hits the Mare-do-Well
on her side, knocking her out and making her lose her magic grasp on the water
tower.

SCENE. ABOVE ALLEYWAY.
Dash
stops running and checks from the roofs to see if the vigilante pony is still
alive. She sees her moving on the ground, trying to stand up again. Dash turns
around and keeps moving in between flying and running to the tower. Behind her
we see another dash of black and purple as the Mare-do-Well shows up again,
this time flapping her wings. Lighting strikes right before her, and the masked
pony recoils, turns around and curls at the bottom of the building, shaking.
Rainbow Dash
What!?
Dash
flies down. The Mare-do-Well is shaking out of control and even whimpering.

SCENE. INT. ALLEYWAY.
Rainbow Dash
What’s
wrong with you!? Now that the town needs you, you chicken out!?
The
Mare-do-Well covers her masked face with a hoof and does one particular sob
that makes Dash gasp and widen her eyes. Dash grabs the mask with her mouth and
pulls up. A pink mane flows out of the suit.
Rainbow Dash
Fluttershy!?
Fluttershy,
dressed as the Mare-do-Well, cries against the building, still shaking in pure
terror. Behind Dash we see other two ponies dressed as the Mare-do-Well, walking
with a painful sharp limp. One of them removes the mask, then the other.
Rainbow Dash
Twilight!?
Applejack!? It was you three!?
Out
of nowhere a black, purple and pink smudge appears and crashes against Rainbow
Dash.
Pinkie Pie
And
me too!
Rainbow Dash
(Still concussed)
I
just can’t believe you guys! You tricked me!?
Twilight
Rainbow,
I th-think this is not the time-
Rainbow Dash
It
is the time! My best friends set up against me and make me feel like I am worth
nothing!? You are terrible!
Twilight
Rainbow!
I think you are not seeing what we are dealing with!
Applejack
Twi,
she’s right.
Twilight
What?
Applejack
Yer
right sugar cube. We shouldn’t have done this. We shouldn’t have set you up.
Twilight
bites her lower lip and groans, holding her right side still hurt after the
banner hit her.
Twilight
You...You
are right AJ. We lied to you Dash, and now look where that got us.
Behind
them a creaking sound grows as the threatening red and orange tones of the
flames start licking the walls of the buildings, enveloping them in fire. Dash
and her friends turn around to see more fire creeping to where they are, soon
surrounding them with flames.
Pinkie Pie
Oooh,
no, no, no, not good, not good, not good!
Twilight
Dash,
what do we do!?
Rainbow Dash
That
cumulus is just lighting! If we fill it with water, we can spread it all over
the area of the fire and extinguish it before it spreads!
Twilight
What
do you need!?
Rainbow Dash
Can
you still lift the water tower Twilight!?
Twilight
I’ll
try!
Twilight
focuses her magic, her own energy starting to get drained as she digs her
hooves on the ground, strain groans and painful gasps as she holds her injured
side, breathlessly panting. The water tower slowly levitates above the cloud.
Dash moves next to Fluttershy.
Rainbow Dash
Fluttershy,
I need your help! Get the mask on!
Fluttershy
But-But...
Rainbow Dash
Fluttershy!
I need you to make the cloud rain! Only you can help me right now!
Fluttershy
swallows her fear down, takes the mask, puts it on and goes along Dash, while
Applejack and Pinkie Pie have removed their costumes and are using them to keep
the fire away from Twilight.

SCENE. ABOVE ALLEYWAY IN PONYVILLE.
Fluttershy
and Rainbow Dash grab the water tower and push it above the cumulus. A crowd of
ponies see them working in the distance. Some of them cheer; others look
reasonably confused to see the two ponies working together. Dash removes the
top of the water tower and drops it behind a building.
Rainbow Dash
Push
now Flut-I mean, Mare-do-Well! Push hard!
Dash
and Fluttershy push the water tower from the top, soon topping it and emptying
the water all above the cloud. The fluffy surface inflates and swells with the
liquid as the lighting diminishes. Dash pushes the now empty water tower away.
The magic aura around it vanishes.
Rainbow Dash
Now
stomp with me!
Rainbow
Dash and Fluttershy start stomping all over the cumulus, making it rain over
the section of Ponyville that had caught fire. The flames start dying, drowned
by the transparent fluid, as wood creaks and windows crack and break due to the
sudden temperature shift. The cloud turns from grey and black to a fluffy shade
of white. Dash and Fluttershy step down from the cloud.

SCENE. INT. ALLEYWAY.
Fire
truck sirens can be heard approaching in the distance. In the alley Twilight,
Applejack and Pinkie Pie have removed their costumes, now consumed by the fire.
Rainbow Dash
Are
you all alright?
Twilight
Yes,
we are.
Applejack
Everything’s
safe here. Thank you RD.
Rainbow Dash
Don’t
RD me! You guys stabbed me in the back with this whole Mare-do-Well charade!
Twilight
We
did this because we wanted to teach you some humility!
Rainbow Dash
Way
to go, teach me humility with your lack of it.
Twilight
Yes...Yes
you are right. This wasn’t the best idea.
Rainbow Dash
Not
really. But that doesn’t mean it didn’t work.
Twilight.
Huh?
Applejack
What
do you mean Dash?
Rainbow Dash
I
learnt my lesson. I was boastful, and arrogant. I shouldn’t be like that. I won’t
let that get to my head again. The Mare-do-Well did her job well.
Twilight
Well,
I’m glad you did learn your lesson. This means we have to put an end to this.
Rainbow Dash
What
do you mean?
Twilight
This
town can’t have two heroes. That’s one hero too many. We have to end the
Mare-do-Well, give you back the task to protect Ponyville.
Twilight
looks at Applejack, then to Pinkie Pie and finally to Fluttershy. The meek Pegasus
removes her costume under their friends’ looks.
Rainbow Dash
What
will you do with the Mare-do-Well?
Twilight
Like
any good book, we have to give her closure. We will give you back the torch and
every pony in Ponyville will see it. Trust me on this.
Fluttershy
gives her costume to Twilight. Dash stares as her friend changes into the
Mare-do-Well clothes, even if she is still limping.

SCENE. PONYVILLE. TOWN SQUARE.
The
Mayor is looking upon the disaster, the smoky buildings, the damp streets and
the muddy roads flowing down from where the fire had started. The ponies murmur
but there is no one that speaks up or dares to say a word louder than a
whisper. One of the ponies in the crowd screams as he points to the top of the
building.
Incidental pony #1
Look!
On the building!
We
see the building half charred and black, smoke still coming from the windows.
The Mare-do-Well is on it next to Rainbow Dash. They are looking at each other
severely in silence. The smoke makes spirals between them, the cape unfurls behind
the masked mare. They walked towards each other in silence as the wind takes
the smoke away, stop to stare at each once more, and finally shake hooves. Then
the Mare-do-Well salutes to Ponyville, jumps off of the building and runs away.
One
of the fillies in the crowd runs towards the building screaming. It’s
Scootaloo.
Scootaloo
Mare-do-Well!!!

SCENE. A TOP THE BUILDING.
Scootaloo
climbs atop of the building as she runs to Rainbow Dash. They both look at the Mare-do-Well
disappear in the distance until her black and purple costume fuses with the
blackness of the hills and the trees.
Scootaloo
Rainbow
Dash, where is she going?
Rainbow Dash
She’s
leaving.
Scootaloo
She
didn’t do anything wrong.
Dash
remains silent as we see the Mare-do-Well running between branches and trees,
moving away further and further away from Ponyville.
Rainbow Dash
She’s
running to another town that needs her more than this one.
Scootaloo
Why?
Rainbow
Dash takes a deep breath, closes her eyes and when she opens them again she
speaks in a grave tone.
Rainbow Dash
Because
she’s a hero. Not the hero that Ponyville needs, but the hero it deserves. She’s
a silent guardian. A watchful protector. She’s the Mysterious Mare-do-Well.
We
see the Mare-do-Well disappearing by the exit of the forest into the upcoming
moon light. The episode then cuts to black and ends. Very loud and very over
the top music composed by Hanzs Zimmer starts playing as the credits start to
roll. Christopher Nolan is credited as director and writer.
I think this one could have worked.
